"Silent No More" is an upcoming art gala and silent auction featuring work by local artists, and benefiting the Philadelphia child abuse awareness documentary, A Bird Without Wings.
A Bird Without Wings puts the issue of child abuse beneath a microscope with the story of Nabeel, who suffered physical battery and psychological torment at the hands of his mother throughout his childhood in a well-off Philadelphia suburb. Making this an even graver picture was Nabeel’s futile struggle to get help from law enforcement and social services, leaving no doubt of the dysfunction commonplace among systems that are ill-equipped to effectively deal with child abuse cases. These same traumas have been shared innumerable times over by people in America across cultural groups and economic strati. A Bird Without Wings will bring the truth of that ubiquity to light.
An opportunity to raise hometown awareness of this important production, "Silent No More" will feature work by local artists, footage from A Bird Without Wings, child welfare advocacy information, a message from Director Angela Wolf, interactive elements, and more.
All artwork purchases and any other donations will be tax-deductible and go directly toward the film.

Tickets are $15 in advance (online only), $20 at the door. Cash and credit/debit cards accepted. Card purchases will carry additional fees.
Refreshments: Hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks will be served. There will be no alcohol at this event.
Parking: There is a paid parking lot on the opposite side of Spruce Street, along with metered street parking in the surrounding area.
